Since the 1970s we have studied Tarot with Dr. Hoeller's lecture presentations, and practiced the art as well. When in 2004 the Gnostic Society moved into its now-former Atwater Village location, several things came together to facilitate the creation of seminar events for Tarot reading. Our small garden space was conducive to tarot readings, and with a screen and projector purchased in 2005 we began holding occasional evening seminar events in that facility.
The purpose was to let everyone attending witness a number of readings by different readers with the intent that this process would foster intuition and reading skills for those in attendance. This became a tradition and is conducted at Besant Lodge, and has been done on average four times a year.
